Roselyon Preparatory School is proposing to open a new 2 form entry Primary School in St Austell, Roselyon Free School, with a total student population of approximately 350 children. This school will be open to all children and will be free to attend. The initial intake, will be 200 pupils and the school will open in September 2016. Statistics show an increasing need for primary school places in St Austell. We will retain small classes (no more than 25 children in a class).
We will be broadening our curriculum to include projects based in the community and education for life (growing food, cooking and sport) for all yeargroups. Our school day will be longer to allow for increased literacy and numeracy learning; we place great emphasis on academic excellence, having facilities both to extend the able and support those who find learning difficult in classroom subjects, art, sport and music. We have a wide range of extra-curricular activities and also both before and after school care.
We are a Christian Foundation school and welcome children from all faiths and none. Children from Christian families will not be prioritized in admissions. In order to include more children, we will be relocating to a new site, and we are in preliminary discussions with the Eden Project about locating the school in their grounds. Please register your interest by completing the form. You can indicate here that you would choose this school as the first choice for your child, should the school open. Com- pleting the form does not guarantee that your child will have a place at the new school but the first registered forms received will be considered for our first intake.
